About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive the adoption of new optical innovations with major hyperscale data center customers.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned Hyperscale DC sites to ensure all technical needs are met.
- Build and maintain deep local relationships with key customer contacts, design consultants, and installers.
- Provide technical sales and engineering support to the DCBU organization and strategic account teams.
- Facilitate field trials, define success criteria, and track customer deployment timing.
- Communicate "voice of customer" feedback to internal teams including Product Line Management and R&D.
- Coordinate with Engineering Services to provide resource forecasts and on-site technical support.
- Travel up to 50% regionally for domestic weekday travel.
Requirements
- BS in an Engineering, Technical, or Science field.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in sales, project management, or data center product/design.
- OR 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or managing installation projects.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated presentation and communication skills with the ability to foster customer relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, MS Project, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Teams).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Data Center networks.
- Commercial knowledge of data center practices, including testing, troubleshooting, and installation methods.
