Responsibilities

• Lead hydrometallurgical flowsheet development for critical mineral recovery across diverse process streams
• Perform hands-on laboratory experimentation to optimize kinetics, selectivity, throughput, purity, and regeneration chemistry
• Conduct pilot testing of hydrometallurgical unit operations to validate bench-scale results
• Perform process cost modeling by converting equilibrium, mass transfer, and reaction rates into value model assumptions
• Align cross-functionally with ion-exchange media and process controls teams
• Scale flowsheets from bench to pilot to commercial deployment
• Identify and vet key process technology vendors
• Lead engagement and joint-research collaboration with National Laboratories, Universities, and Corporate R&D teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, Extractive Metallurgy, or Hydrometallurgy
• 3+ years of experience in flowsheet development and unit-operation optimization
• Hands-on laboratory and pilot experience in leaching, solid–liquid separation, ion-exchange, solvent extraction, and precipitation
• Proficiency in process modeling tools such as MetSim, HSC Chemistry, SysCAD, or Aspen Plus
• Experience with precipitate/electrolyte modelling tools like PHREEQC or Oli Studio
• Willingness to relocate to Chattanooga, TN
• Ability to travel internationally for process technology installation and commissioning

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrowinning and crystallization
• Experience working in early-stage startup environments
