Hydrometallurgical Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrometallurgical process equipment scopes from concept development through procurement, installation, and commissioning
• Manage external technology licensors, equipment vendors, and engineering partners
• Develop detailed heat and material balances for complex hydrometallurgical process trains
• Build hydraulic models and process flow diagrams/P&IDs for hydrometallurgical circuits
• Create first-principles models of chemical reactors and unit operations to validate scale-up
• Identify and implement engineering solutions to optimize extraction, purification, and recovery processes
• Collaborate with R&D, lab staff, and pilot-plant engineers to translate bench-scale insights into scalable flowsheets
• Work with software and machine-learning teams to develop advanced control and digital-twin models

Requirements

• Strong foundation in chemical engineering, metallurgical engineering, or process engineering
• Experience with equipment engineering and design for greenfield or brownfield projects
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing operating hydrometallurgical or chemical-process equipment
• Background in hydrometallurgical mineral processing, metal refining, or large-scale mining
• Experience in industrial chemical manufacturing or working with EPC/EPCM firms
