HW Design Engineer, Senior

Responsibilities

• Design and develop motherboards, add-in cards, and modules for new AI System on Chip (SoC) and System In Package (SIP) solutions.
• Participate in schematic design, PCB layouts, component selection, and mechanical/thermal design reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, thermal, SI, validation, manufacturing) and ODMs to support customer-specific hardware requirements.
• Support rack-level design and integration, including chassis, backplane, cabling, and power delivery.
• Assist in the bring-up and debugging of hardware systems, cards, and rack-level configurations using lab equipment.
• Facilitate technical trade-offs at the hardware, software, and chip design levels.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in system, card, or rack-level hardware development.
• Experience with dense, high-layer count PCB designs (8–20+ layers).
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence Allegro or Mentor Expedition.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed serial I/O (6–10+ Gbps), PCIe Gen5/6, and high-speed memory technologies (LPDDR4x/5x, DDR4/5).
• Experience with rack-scale power delivery, including PDUs, VRMs, and PMICs.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience with circuit design (digital, analog, or RF).
• Experience utilizing circuit simulation software and hardware measurement instruments like oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Familiarity with BMC hardware/software integration and x86 firmware architecture.
• Knowledge of Ethernet Switch hardware and PCIe switch design/debug.
