About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon system components.
  • Install complete systems including chillers, rooftop units, plumbing, and supporting mechanical systems.
  • Conduct mechanical shaft alignment for pumps, fans, and compressors using dial indicators or lasers.
  • Use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drivelines and identify facility inefficiencies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing technical recommendations, solutions, and service quotes.
  • Provide on-the-job training to servicemen and apprentices when necessary.

Requirements

  • Union membership or willingness to join the United Association (UA).
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of commercial or industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in industrial petro-chemical, data center, or similar vertical environments.
  • Proficiency in repairing centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, and screw chillers.
  • Valid Universal EPA refrigerants license.
  • Ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel 10% to 20% to support branch customer activities.
