HVAC Truck Based Journeymen Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon system components.
• Install complete systems including chillers, rooftop units, plumbing, and supporting mechanical systems.
• Conduct mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators or lasers and use vibration equipment for driveline troubleshooting.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing technical solutions, efficiency recommendations, and service quotes.
• Provide on-the-job training to servicemen and apprentices when necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum of eight (8) years of commercial or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Experience in industrial petro-chemical or data center vertical environments.
• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association (UA) of Journeymen and Apprentices.
• Universal EPA refrigerant license.
• Ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel 10% to 20% to support branch customer activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, and plumbing.
• Strong interpersonal and digital communication skills for documenting customer problems and corrective actions.
