HVAC Truck Based Journeymen Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve facility inefficiencies and service-related items for customers.
• Provide technical recommendations and quotes for aftermarket services and system improvements.
• Partner with Journeymen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers.
• Utilize vibration equipment and mechanical tools to troubleshoot drivelines and equipment.
• Maintain high standards of safety and documentation regarding customer problems and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Union membership or willingness to join the United Association (UA).
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial or industrial HVAC troubleshooting experience (e.g., rooftop units, pumps, boilers, chillers).
• Proficiency in mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators for pumps, fans, and compressors.
• Universal EPA refrigerants license.
• Valid driver's license and applicable state or local licensing.
• Ability to travel 10% to 20% to support branch customer activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC piping, plumbing, or pipefitting.
• Practical experience with heavy commercial mechanical equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and digital communication skills for customer interaction.
