HVAC Technician I

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial and industrial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems for City buildings.
• Service and repair boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat pumps, and geothermal units.
• Clean and replace filters, coils, and valves, and test/adjust mechanical components.
• Execute plumbing and electrical tasks related to HVAC systems, including soldering, brazing, and circuit troubleshooting.
• Utilize building automation control software for diagnostics and energy management.
• Perform preventative maintenance, maintain accurate records and inventories, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• HVAC apprenticeship and trade certification (or equivalent).
• 3 years of experience in commercial/industrial HVAC repair, operations, installation, and maintenance.
• EPA CFC Universal Certificate at the time of appointment.
• Valid driver's license.
