HVAC Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair air handling units, exhaust fans, fume hoods, fan coil units, and reheat coils
• Troubleshoot temperature control issues within buildings
• Partner with subject matter experts and Reliability services to resolve operational issues
• Capture R&M data including material and contract labor costs on work orders
• Monitor and adjust refrigeration, heat exchangers, boilers, pumps, valves, and piping systems
• Perform preventive maintenance on base building and critical HVAC equipment
• Maintain up-to-date system documentation for all repairs and changes
• Comply with departmental policies for safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or state equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to operate electric hand tools and work on ladders up to 28 feet
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics
• Ability to perform overhead work on building roofs
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficiency with computer equipment and programs

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of related trade schooling or equivalent
• Boiler License or EPA certification
