HVAC Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues
• Perform refrigerant diagnostics, leak detection, recovery, and charging in accordance with EPA regulations
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding system conditions and recommended repairs
• Follow all safety procedures, local codes, and company policies
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of commercial HVAC experience
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Experience working with rooftop units (RTUs), package units, and commercial refrigeration systems
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal Required)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• TDLR certification
• Commercial HVAC certification or technical school training
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
