HVAC-R Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical systems including HRVs, boilers, furnaces, and air conditioning systems
• Conduct filter changes, coil cleaning, belt replacements, and combustion testing
• Diagnose and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment, including leak detection
• Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, TSSA requirements, and safety standards
• Review and manage assigned work orders using CMMS software
• Estimate time and materials required for repairs and coordinate material ordering
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and apprentices

Requirements

• Red Seal 313A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Certification
• Gas Fitter 2 certification minimum
• Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP/ODS) certification
• Minimum 3 years of related experience
• Ability to obtain a secret level security clearance with Defense Canada
• Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
• Working at Heights certification
• WHMIS/MSDS Training
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and control drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary technical education
• Gas Fitter 1 certification
• First Aid certification
