HVAC/R II Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of HVAC/R equipment, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and refrigeration systems.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance plans such as changing filters, replacing belts, and checking voltage/pressure readings.
• Respond to work orders via the TMA system and provide professional customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues to prevent equipment failure.
• Participate in the weekly on-call rotation to respond to campus facilities emergencies.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following OSHA regulations and industry best practices.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with HVAC/R, heating, ventilation, or boiler systems.
• 2+ years of experience performing preventive maintenance.
• EPA Refrigeration Certification (Section 608).
• Active driver's license.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree or relevant trade certifications.
• Experience with soldering, brazing, and welding.
• Experience with DDC building-control systems (e.g., Siemens, Alerton).
• Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or high lifts.
• Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) certification or OSHA 30.
