HVAC/R Facilities Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and air handlers
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and refrigeration components such as motors, compressors, and valves
• Maintain supporting utility systems including compressed dry air (CDA), vacuum systems, and liquid nitrogen (LN₂)
• Install, commission, and test new HVAC/R equipment in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
• Troubleshoot and adjust BAS-controlled components such as VAV boxes, controllers, and sensors
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, refrigerant tracking, and system performance
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in an on-call rotation

Requirements

• EPA 608 Universal Certification
• 10+ years of HVAC/R maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to read electrical/mechanical diagrams
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, pressure gauges, and temperature probes
• Strong understanding of BAS systems and control logic
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in mechanical rooms or confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC/R certifications such as NATE, HVAC Excellence, or Journeyman/Master license
• OSHA 10/30 certification
• Experience with Siemens Insight/Apogee or similar BAS platforms
• Experience using CMMS for work orders and asset management
