About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and air handlers
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and refrigeration components such as motors, compressors, and valves
- Maintain supporting utility systems including compressed dry air (CDA), vacuum systems, and liquid nitrogen (LN₂)
- Install, commission, and test new HVAC/R equipment in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Troubleshoot and adjust BAS-controlled components such as VAV boxes, controllers, and sensors
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, refrigerant tracking, and system performance
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements
- EPA 608 Universal Certification
- 10+ years of HVAC/R maintenance experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills and ability to read electrical/mechanical diagrams
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, pressure gauges, and temperature probes
- Strong understanding of BAS systems and control logic
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in mechanical rooms or confined spaces
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC/R certifications such as NATE, HVAC Excellence, or Journeyman/Master license
- OSHA 10/30 certification
- Experience with Siemens Insight/Apogee or similar BAS platforms
- Experience using CMMS for work orders and asset management
