HVAC Principal Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for specific project areas
• Act as a lead engineer on assigned projects of advanced complexity
• Supervise and provide guidance to other engineers and designers
• Analyze and recommend technical solutions to complex problems
• Develop and review specifications, design criteria, and engineering calculations
• Coordinate technical issues with project management, vendors, and clients
• Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plans, scope, cost, and schedule
• Provide technical support for equipment procurement, subcontracting, and construction administration

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of work-related experience
• Significant experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for large industrial projects
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D CADD automation tools
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC system design, load calculations, and air flow diagrams
• Expertise in sizing and specifying air handling units, chillers, boilers, and cooling towers
• Working knowledge of federal (DOE), state, and local codes and standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• ASME NQA-1 certification
• Experience with U.S. Department of Energy or nuclear facilities under quality assurance programs
• Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries
• Practical field experience and project management expertise
