HVAC Operator

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate central computerized energy management and control systems to maintain temperature and humidity levels.
• Start, stop, and adjust operations for boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps, and ancillary components.
• Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on HVAC equipment, including refrigerant lines, duct work, and water supply lines.
• Maintain proper water treatment for boiler and chilled water systems, monitoring pH, alkalinity, and acidity.
• Read gauges, instruments, and recorders to ensure equipment operates within specified limits.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain official operating logs.
• Assist with snow removal and other weather-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in the maintenance or operation of heating, air conditioning, or temperature control systems.
• Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• EPA certification (Level 1, 2, or Universal) upon hire or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
• Ability to work the 3rd shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am) and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Physical ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds and work in various configurations and heights.
