HVAC Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
• Provide repair, carpentry, and painting renovations
• Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts
• Install evaporator units, tubing, and expansion/discharge valves
• Connect motors, compressors, and temperature controls to power sources
• Inject refrigerant and adjust controls to ensure proper operation
• Test joints and connections for gas leaks
• Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, and fuses

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 5 years of HVAC Mechanic experience within a government facility
• Valid HVAC license
• Experience servicing and maintaining air conditioning systems
• Understanding of 300 to 800 ton chillers and annual PMs
• Background in electrical high and low voltage A/C D/C
• Background in low pressure vessels and boilers
• Background in plumbing repairs
• Knowledge of Lockout tag out and OSHA safety standards
• Knowledge of fire alarm and life safety standards
• Ability to pass a government background check
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
