About the role
Responsibilities
- Operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Provide repair, carpentry, and painting renovations
- Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts
- Install evaporator units, tubing, and expansion/discharge valves
- Connect motors, compressors, and temperature controls to power sources
- Inject refrigerant and adjust controls to ensure proper operation
- Test joints and connections for gas leaks
- Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, and fuses
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least 5 years of HVAC Mechanic experience within a government facility
- Valid HVAC license
- Experience servicing and maintaining air conditioning systems
- Understanding of 300 to 800 ton chillers and annual PMs
- Background in electrical high and low voltage A/C D/C
- Background in low pressure vessels and boilers
- Background in plumbing repairs
- Knowledge of Lockout tag out and OSHA safety standards
- Knowledge of fire alarm and life safety standards
- Ability to pass a government background check
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
