HVAC Maintenance & Service Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC-R systems, including air conditioning, furnaces, boilers, and HRVs
• Complete inspections, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system testing
• Conduct routine maintenance such as filter changes, coil cleaning, and belt replacement
• Review and complete work orders through CMMS
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and pre-job safety planning
• Estimate labour, materials, and resources for maintenance activities
• Coordinate with planners and vendors to source equipment
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
• Participate in emergency response and after-hours support

Requirements

• Red Seal 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Certification
• Gas Technician 2 (G2) certification
• Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP/ODS) Certification
• Minimum 3 years of related HVAC-R maintenance and service experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
• Ability to obtain security clearances and criminal record check
• Working at Heights, WHMIS, and First Aid/CPR certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Gas Technician 1 (G1) certification
• Post-secondary education in HVAC or Mechanical Systems
• UA Local 787 membership in good standing
