HVAC Engineer

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of HVAC equipment including chillers, VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, FAHUs, and cooling towers
• Monitor system performance via Building Management Systems (BMS) and analyze control logic to maintain optimal climate conditions
• Execute comprehensive preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance plans in accordance with OEM and ASHRAE standards
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults using specialized diagnostic tools
• Ensure compliance with UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, municipality regulations, and international standards like NFPA and ISO
• Implement energy management strategies to optimize chiller sequencing and reduce operational costs
• Supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and contractual SLAs/KPIs
• Maintain accurate asset inventory and documentation within CAFM/CMMS systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• 3–10 years of HVAC maintenance experience, preferably within a Facilities Management environment
• Expertise in HVAC systems, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration cycles
• Proficiency in BMS, control logic, and HVAC automation
• Strong knowledge of CAFM/CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo, Concept Evolution)
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as HVAC Technician Certification or ASHRAE membership
• Chiller Operation Certification
• Facilities Management-related qualifications (e.g., IFMA, CFM, or FMP)
