HVAC Design Engineer (Principal)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Supervising Lead providing guidance and supervision to other engineers and designers
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding technical solutions to problems of advanced complexity
• Develop and review specifications and design criteria
• Perform and check engineering analyses and calculations, including material and equipment specification
• Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients
• Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan, scope, cost, and schedule baselines
• Develop and review estimates, schedules, and progress reports
• Provide technical support for equipment procurement, subcontracting, and construction administration

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 15+ years of relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government-issued clearance
• Significant experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services for large industrial projects
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D CADD automation tools
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC system design, load calculations, and air flow diagrams
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience with ASME NQA-1 requirements for nuclear facilities
• Experience with U.S. Department of Energy or other federal government projects
• Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries
• Practical field experience
