HVAC Controls Systems Technician

Responsibilities

• Install raceways, cables, and wiring in compliance with local or national codes and customer requirements
• Mount and terminate controls equipment and validate final termination points for systems like chillers, boilers, and RTUs
• Perform system checkouts using test instruments such as volt meters and handheld testers
• Assist sales teams with electrical estimates and retrofit project walkthroughs
• Maintain accurate documentation, including time sheets, expense reports, and as-built drawings
• Communicate effectively with customers and management regarding job progress and site issues
• Adhere to all company safety programs and policies

Requirements

• Electrical apprenticeship or formal training in electrical installation techniques
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of local electrical codes as they apply to controls
• Experience in scope determination for installation materials
• Ability to work independently and resolve job site conflicts

Preferred Qualifications

• Four years of direct experience with controls installations
