HVAC 313A Journeyman

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service chillers, heat pumps, steam boilers, air handling units, fans, humidifiers, pumps, VAV boxes, motors, refrigerators and freezers
• Monitor, troubleshoot, replace, calibrate and program HVAC control
• Replace filters and belts
• Update documentation including drawings, specifications, and O&M manuals
• Install new services in renovation or building changes
• Respond to environmental comfort complaints and perform log readings
• Complete preventive and demand maintenance tasks and enter records on work orders
• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations

Requirements

• Skilled Trades Ontario certified 313A Journeyperson
• Valid G1 gas license
• Successful completion of a recognized HVAC and/or refrigeration certificate
• Working knowledge of building services including air conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical/mechanical controls in the ICI sector
• Full understanding of building automation system HVAC control strategies
• Experience troubleshooting and rectifying HVAC equipment issues in the ICI sector
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals
• Valid Ontario class G driver’s license
• Ability to bend, lift under 30 kgs, and work on ladders or scaffolds
• Ability to pass criminal record and vulnerable sector police checks

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge and experience with chiller, boiler and/or combustion equipment
• Proficiency with DSI platform
