Human Resources Specialist

Responsibilities

• Process new hires into BambooHR, including documentation and onboarding tasks
• Lead orientation for new hires to ensure a welcoming start
• Partner with Ontario-based leaders on employee relations matters with empathy and sound judgment
• Proactively flag emerging employee issues to the VP of Talent and relevant leaders
• Update employee handbooks to ensure compliance with Ontario employment standards
• Manage offboarding processes to ensure respectful and compliant exits
• Advise managers on disciplinary actions and terminations
• Manage end-to-end benefits enrollment and serve as the primary resource for employee questions
• Lead HR-related training sessions for managers and employees
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across HR systems

Requirements

• 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience supporting an Ontario-based workforce
• Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (e.g., Employment Standards Act)
• Experience with HRIS (BambooHR preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CHRL (Certified Human Resources Leader) designation
