Responsibilities
- Design and own structured onboarding and offboarding programs
- Manage end-to-end benefits administration and open enrollment
- Serve as a resource for employee relations and conduct investigations
- Maintain compliance with California employment law and federal contractor obligations (OFCCP, EEO-1, VEVRAA)
- Design and run performance management cycles and career ladder infrastructure
- Drive employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
- Manage day-to-day HRIS administration and headcount reporting
Requirements
- 7+ years of HR generalist experience
- At least 3 years of experience based in California
- Deep working knowledge of CA employment law
- Experience with federal contractor compliance (OFCCP, EEO-1, VEVRAA, Section 503)
- Experience owning benefits administration through open enrollment
- Hands-on employee relations experience including investigations and terminations
- Experience operating as a solo HR professional or within a lean team
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in aerospace, defense, or technical startup environments
- Experience hiring and onboarding HR team members
