About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day human resources, faculty affairs, and payroll functions for departments within the Specialty Pod.
- Support recruitment efforts by posting positions, scheduling meetings, managing the I-9 process, and processing new hires.
- Manage onboarding for staff, faculty, researchers, and students, including welcome programs and medical surveillance coordination.
- Oversee payroll preparation and processing, including time-off tracking and employment-related changes in PeopleSoft.
- Facilitate immigration-related needs, including sponsorship for various visa types (F-1, J-1, H-1, etc.) and maintaining compliance.
- Ensure departmental compliance with I-9 processing, annual training, and medical surveillance programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and utilize HR ticketing systems to manage requests.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant human resources experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced spreadsheet skills.
- Strong analytical and tenacious problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and exercise sound independent judgment.
- High degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion when dealing with individuals at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree specifically in Human Resources or a related field.
