Human Resources Generalist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day human resources, faculty affairs, and payroll functions for departments within the Surgical Pod
• Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and managing the I-9 and background check processes
• Oversee onboarding for staff, faculty, researchers, and students, ensuring smooth transitions and proper system access
• Manage payroll preparation and processing, including time-off tracking and employment-related changes in PeopleSoft
• Support immigration-related needs by assisting with visa sponsorship (F-1, J-1, H-1, etc.) and maintaining communication with ISSO
• Ensure departmental compliance with hospital training, medical surveillance, and other regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate employee records and utilize HR ticketing systems to manage requests

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant human resources experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced spreadsheet skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree specifically in Human Resources or a related field
• Familiarity with university policies, procedures, and higher education systems
