Human Resources Business Partner

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and management within a unionized environment
• Ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and foster positive labor relations
• Provide guidance to management on interpreting labor laws, company policies, and CBA terms
• Conduct workplace investigations regarding disciplinary matters and employee concerns in collaboration with employee relations
• Utilize data and analytics to inform staffing decisions and maintain appropriate union staffing levels
• Support full-cycle recruitment and facilitate on-site union orientations
• Manage eligibility and compliance for FMLA, NJFLA, ADA, and NJ State Disability programs
• Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including grievances and disciplinary actions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and labor relations in a unionized environment
• Proven experience recruiting and administering federal and state leave programs
• Strong knowledge of FMLA, NJFLA, ADA, and NJ State Disability regulations
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations and sensitive situations
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Workday
• Professional certification such as PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources)
