Human Resource Manager

Responsibilities

• Independently research, interpret, and apply California employment laws with an emphasis on wage and hour compliance and PAGA risk prevention.
• Conduct internal audits regarding exempt vs. non-exempt classifications, timekeeping, overtime practices, and meal/rest break adherence.
• Identify potential PAGA exposure and recommend corrective measures to mitigate risk.
• Lead complex employee relations investigations and ensure all documentation is legally defensible.
• Advise management on termination risks, retaliation exposure, and high-risk employment decisions.
• Develop and revise HR policies to align with evolving California labor regulations.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate compliance reports.
• Implement process improvements to reduce liability and increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience specifically within California.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with California wage and hour compliance.
• Proven experience managing employee relations and conducting workplace investigations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience working with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
• Bilingual proficiency in Korean or Spanish is required.
