About the role
Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for the NASA Life Sciences Portal (NLSP)
- Translate stakeholder requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria to support major software releases
- Develop and maintain key documentation including User Guides, System Architecture documents, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
- Lead and support Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming
- Facilitate customer meetings, capture detailed notes, and provide clear summaries to track decisions
- Monitor, document, and report project progress and status presentations to leadership
- Identify process inefficiencies and lead improvement initiatives, including bug triage and backlog reduction
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in biological sciences or bioinformatics (Information Systems or Computer Science with applicable experience is also acceptable)
- 6+ years of experience in product ownership of biological science research applications supporting government or scientific communities
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC processes
- Proficiency in writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria
- 2+ years of experience using tools such as Jira or Confluence
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. person status is required
