About the role

Responsibilities

  • Apply Human Engineering principles to the analysis, design, and evaluation of complex aerospace systems
  • Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical and functional interfaces
  • Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes
  • Apply knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STD-1472 and MIL-STD-3009) to meet program requirements
  • Provide technical requirements understanding and procurement oversight for cockpit hardware components
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate Human Engineering considerations into system design and production
  • Conduct user engagement activities including interviews, focus groups, and field studies

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related Human Engineering field
  • 3+ years of work experience in Human Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Certification from the Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics (CPE)
  • Understanding of Human System Integration (HSI) in the defense acquisition process
  • Experience supporting defense programs and working with multi-discipline engineering teams
  • Knowledge of Human Perception, Cognition, and Human Performance Modeling
  • Experience with usability assessments, workload assessments (e.g., NASA TLX), and task analysis
  • Experience with user interface software prototyping tools and Agile Development
