Requirements

10+ years mining experience, 5+ years management experience, Bilingual English/French, HSE expertise, Instructional design knowledge

HSE

Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) systems, processes, and programs
Lead and manage HSE and training teams, fostering professional development and accountability
Oversee training initiatives, including modular training on equipment, processes, and specific programs
Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, client standards, and internal policies
Manage HSE and training budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including HR, operations, management, clients, OEMs, and regulators
Execute special projects to improve the performance and efficiency of organizational HSE activities
Monitor departmental KPIs, analyze trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Act as a liaison with the English-speaking corporate office to align operational needs with corporate HSE policies
Review and facilitate the translation of corporate policies from English to French
Review, translate, and develop French training content from English OEM operating manuals

College diploma (minimum 2 years) or relevant Bachelor's degree
Minimum 10 years of experience in the mining sector or related field
At least 5 years in a supervisory or management role
Strong knowledge of adult training, instructional design, HSE practices, and organizational development
Proven experience in team management, budgeting, and training programs
Proficiency in MS Office, HR systems, LMS platforms, and project management tools
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder mobilization skills
Ability to review, translate, and develop training content in French from English source material
Ability to collaborate with English-speaking corporate offices while supporting local bilingual needs
