HSE Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide technical HSES support for ongoing projects, daily site activities, and industrial hygiene compliance
• Guide root cause investigations, site inspections, audits, and waste/wastewater sampling
• Develop and deliver safety training for contractors, visitors, and new employees
• Assist with Safe Work permits, job safety analysis, and process hazard analysis
• Maintain site chemical management systems and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Monitor compliance with state and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA/FDEP, and DOT
• Participate in site Safety Committees and prepare monthly safety meetings
• Conduct on-the-floor HSES coaching and implement improvement opportunities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Safety, or a closely related field
• 2+ years of experience in Occupational, Environmental, or Industrial Hygiene safety
• Ability to wear a full-face tight-fitting respirator and a fully encapsulated Level A ER suit
• Ability to medically pass respiratory and physical tests required for respirator use
• Physical fitness to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
• Must remain clean-shaven at all times to ensure respirator seal
• Valid U.S. employment authorization without requirement for visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the chemical industry HSES field
• Plant-level experience in HSES
• Plant-level experience in Process Safety Management (PSM)
