HSE Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure site maintains continuous audit-ready state of compliance with company and governmental HSE Standards
• Execute site environmental compliance programs including air, storm water, water, spill control, and wastewater
• Manage site hazardous waste activities to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Deliver training to site associates on HSE expectations and support mandatory training plans
• Participate in HSE incident investigations to drive root cause analysis and prevent recurrence
• Support industrial hygiene risk measurement including ergonomics, dust, noise, and chemical exposure
• Execute management of Worker’s Compensation and Incident Management processes
• Conduct safety audits and provide coaching for associates on mindset and behavior
• Support site security requirements and risk management activities
• Provide backup coverage for the site HSE Manager as required

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience supporting safety and environmental programs in a manufacturing environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact with manufacturing management and regulatory agencies
• Ability to work night and weekend hours to support site needs
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science (e.g., engineering, safety, IH)
• Basic knowledge of food manufacturing and GMP
• Experience with hazard recognition, behavioral-based safety, and job hazard analysis
