About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and international best practices.
- Lead HSE risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and monitor implementation across all project phases.
- Conduct internal and external audits, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Foster a strong safety culture through regular training, awareness programs, and competency development for all site personnel.
- Oversee safety management plans and ensure their integration into project execution strategies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to HSE officers and site teams.
- Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and client representatives to align HSE objectives.
- Ensure proper incident investigation, reporting, and implementation of lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor HSE key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports to senior management and the client.
- Ensure emergency response plans are in place and conduct regular drills to test effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in HSE management roles, specifically in large-scale rail or metro infrastructure projects.
- Strong familiarity with UAE/GCC statutory health and safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment, hazard management, and incident investigation.
- Proficiency in HSE management systems, compliance audits, and reporting.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Effective communication skills for preparing reports and engaging with regulatory bodies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lead Auditor Accreditation.
