About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
- Formulate safety policies in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations.
- Maintain ISO 14001 and 45001 compliant programs.
- Manage environmental recordkeeping and administration, including compliance with Title V Air, NPDES Water, and 1200Z Stormwater permitting.
- Coordinate with federal (EPA) and state (DEQ/OSHA) regulators for reporting and onsite inspections.
- Design, supervise, and coordinate training programs to increase proficiency in safe practices.
- Conduct HSE Management System (HSEMS) audits to verify continuous compliance.
- Provide shop floor presence to evaluate potential accident and health hazards and recommend corrective measures.
- Support and execute processes related to environmental sustainability and injury reduction.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
- BA/BS degree in Safety and Health Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of environmental management programs and regulatory standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write technical reports and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
