HSE Generalist

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a written workplace HSE Program, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
• Identify hazards through monitoring to evaluate the safety of company systems and processes.
• Conduct regular workplace and equipment inspections, audits, and documentation of corrective actions.
• Assist in incident investigations, reporting, recordkeeping, and the evaluation of HSE Key Performance Indicators.
• Manage environmental processes, including waste management (RCRA/TSCA), pollution prevention, and spill contingency planning.
• Facilitate required safety training and serve as a resource for the company’s safety management program.
• Complete federal, state, and city environmental reports and maintain the plant’s Safety Action Log.

Requirements

• HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and program requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for report generation and presentations.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to lift less than 35 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the paper industry.
• Familiarity with US regulatory requirements and environmental compliance.
