HSE Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans.
• Conduct daily site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments for high-risk activities.
• Manage and enforce the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for hot work, confined space entry, and heavy lifting.
• Lead daily toolbox talks (TBT) and deliver HSE induction training to onsite staff and subcontractors.
• Supervise the use, maintenance, and distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain up-to-date HSE documentation, including accident logs, training records, and compliance reports.
• Act as the primary onsite liaison for emergency response, including fire-fighting and evacuation drills.
• Audit site activities against PEC OSH Code of Practice and client-specific safety standards.
• Prepare periodic HSE progress reports for project management and the corporate QHSE department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional HSE experience.
• Proven track record in the oil and gas or major industrial construction sector.
• Mandatory international safety certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to influence onsite safety culture.
• Ability to manage and train multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
