HSE Director

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall HSE strategy, governance framework, policies, and performance standards for a major airport infrastructure program.
• Provide leadership and direction to HSE teams across multiple project packages and contractor environments.
• Drive a proactive safety culture across contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with aviation, construction safety, environmental, and local authority requirements.
• Oversee construction safety across airfield works, terminals, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.
• Manage regulatory audits, inspections, permits, and authority engagements.
• Oversee environmental compliance, sustainability performance, and impact mitigation measures.
• Lead investigations into major incidents and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Act as the primary HSE interface with airport authorities, regulators, clients, and senior leadership.
• Establish HSE KPIs, dashboards, reporting systems, and assurance processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 25 years of HSE leadership experience across major infrastructure, aviation, or airport development programs.
• Proven experience within airport, airfield, EPC, PMC, or delivery partner environments.
• Deep knowledge of international HSE standards including ICAO, FAA, OSHA, NFPA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
• Experience managing large HSE teams and multi-contractor project environments.
• Strong capability in auditing, compliance management, and incident investigation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Management, or Engineering.
• Chartered status or professional certification such as NEBOSH, CSP, CIH, or CMIOSH.
• Experience on GCC airport megaprojects or complex aviation infrastructure programs.
• Background in ESG, sustainability reporting, carbon management, and digital HSE systems.
