About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor production floor activity to ensure all personnel operate within prescribed safety guidelines and environmental compliance.
- Conduct accident investigations and gather necessary information for ICare and WSNB reporting.
- Partner with site leadership to identify and mitigate plant risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Facilitate safety training, orientations, and walkthroughs for new hires to promote a strong safety culture.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and training matrices for all personnel.
- Monitor modified work plans and liaise with workers and healthcare providers to ensure safe returns to work.
- Participate in the safety committee to review concerns and develop mitigation plans.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a safety role within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Experience monitoring HSE performance and implementing safety programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks such as bending, reaching, and pushing/pulling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations and working cross-functionally.
- Experience with 5S methodologies and continuous improvement projects.
