HSE Advisor

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and support site staff in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) improvements.
• Ensure consistent implementation of the Company’s HSE policies across the site.
• Monitor, evaluate, and review HSE practices and legal compliance, making recommendations for new procedures.
• Advise the Senior Management Team on current and emerging HSE legislation and generate action plans for compliance.
• Support managers in maintaining safe systems through specialist advice and practical coaching.
• Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of HSE systems and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage accurate reporting of HSE leading and lagging performance indicators via dashboard reports.
• Investigate accidents and events to determine root causes and implement preventative actions.

Requirements

• Relevant professional qualification, such as an IOSH certificate or NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma.
• Proven working knowledge of current HSE legislation and its application within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize workload independently.
• Strong written and interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge others constructively.
• Willingness to travel across the region as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
• Knowledge and training in Continuous Improvement (e.g., Green Belt level).
