HSB Worker

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to clients through Emergency Utility Assistance and Rental Assistance programs
• Complete applications for financial assistance, verify documentation, and assess eligibility
• Advocate and coordinate with community agencies and landlords to support housing stability
• Provide referrals to social service resources to meet clients' emotional, spiritual, and physical needs
• Maintain accurate client files, databases, and Excel spreadsheets
• Assist in the collection and compilation of program data and statistics
• Participate in the orientation and training of students and volunteers
• Adhere to all health, safety, and confidentiality standards and policies

Requirements

• University degree or two-year college diploma in Business Administration or Social Services
• Knowledge of community resources and supports for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Access)
• Valid Ontario Class G driver's license and access to a vehicle
• Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector screening
• Experience working with diverse populations, including those facing mental health or addiction challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English and another language
• Certification in First Aid/CPR
• Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• Understanding of Ontario Works, ODSP, and the Residential Tenancies Act
