HRC Director

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations, staff, budget, and daily activities of the Human Relations Commission (HRC) office.
• Process and investigate discrimination complaints regarding housing, employment, and public accommodations while ensuring strict confidentiality.
• Coordinate meetings and activities for the Human Relations Commission and the Advisory Board.
• Develop and lead community outreach and educational programs to promote awareness of the HRC Ordinance.
• Represent the Commission in dealings with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure legal compliance.
• Serve as the coordinator for County ADA Roundtable meetings and manage the ADA concern line.
• Provide regular policy recommendations and quarterly activity updates to the County Council.
• Manage the agency's webpage and coordinate advertising efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Social Services, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state anti-discrimination laws.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to exercise high levels of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with federal, state, and local laws governing discrimination in housing, employment, and public accommodations.
