HR Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, documentation, internal transfers, and exit processes.
• Manage HRIS administration to ensure data integrity, audit readiness, and accurate reporting for leadership.
• Coordinate monthly payroll in partnership with Finance and external vendors, ensuring accuracy in tax declarations and reconciliations.
• Administer employee benefits, including group health insurance, leave policies, and other programs.
• Ensure full compliance with Indian labor laws (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, POSH, etc.) and lead statutory audits.
• Draft and refine HR policies and maintain the employee handbook.
• Act as the primary point of contact for employee queries regarding HR processes, payroll, and benefits.
• Manage relationships with external vendors such as payroll, insurance, and background verification providers.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in HR Operations, ideally within a high-growth SaaS or tech company.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance requirements.
• Hands-on experience with modern HRIS platforms.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting a globally distributed workforce (US and India).
• Experience scaling HR operations within an early- to mid-stage startup.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Zapier, Make, or Slack workflows.
• Professional certification in POSH, Labor Law, or HR Analytics.
