About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide consultative HR leadership in employee relations, organizational effectiveness, change management, and performance management.
- Manage employee relations matters directly, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state employment laws and University policies.
- Lead and participate in special HR projects and ERP-related initiatives to support the University's transition.
- Act as a subject matter expert on full-cycle ADA claim management.
- Provide functional guidance and support to HR Generalists, Specialists, and student workers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators as a trusted HR advisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Proven expertise in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and university employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS (e.g., PeopleAdmin), enterprise ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or unionized environments.
- Professional Human Resources certification (PHR/SPHR).
- Experience supporting talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
