About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative HR leadership in employee relations, organizational effectiveness, change management, and performance management.
  • Manage employee relations matters directly, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state employment laws and University policies.
  • Lead and participate in special HR projects and ERP-related initiatives to support the University's transition.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on full-cycle ADA claim management.
  • Provide functional guidance and support to HR Generalists, Specialists, and student workers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, staff, and administrators as a trusted HR advisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Proven expertise in employee relations, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and university employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (e.g., PeopleAdmin), enterprise ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with discretion in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or unionized environments.
  • Professional Human Resources certification (PHR/SPHR).
  • Experience supporting talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
