About the role
Responsibilities
- Build HR infrastructure from the ground up, including policies, procedures, systems, and organizational structures for a new manufacturing facility.
- Lead full life-cycle recruitment for all exempt and non-exempt positions, including high-volume hourly hiring.
- Design and execute workforce planning and hiring strategies to support the manufacturing launch.
- Establish and manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and develop sourcing strategies using Boolean search and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Develop university and community college partnerships to build a local talent pipeline.
- Ensure OFCCP/EEO compliance across all recruitment and HR practices.
- Resolve complex employee relations issues and manage hourly absenteeism and factory turnover.
- Administer PTO, attendance, and various leaves of absence (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
- Partner with leadership to drive business results and implement training to improve leadership capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience leading high-volume full life-cycle recruiting.
- Hands-on experience with ATS administration (e.g., Workday, Taleo).
- Strong knowledge of OFCCP/EEO compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with HRIS and human resources laws.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience in startup or new manufacturing site setup.
- Knowledge of Virginia/Norfolk area labor laws.
