About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for leave of absence (LOA) matters, including FMLA, state-mandated leaves, and parental leave.
  • Manage end-to-end communications regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Serve as the initial intake point for employee relations matters, documenting concerns and escalating issues as needed.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Support day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, job changes, and internal transfers.
  • Assist with benefits administration, open enrollment, and performance management processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support HR audits and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
  • Proven HR experience supporting a retail setting.
  • Solid working knowledge of FMLA, state leave laws, and general HR compliance.
  • Proficiency with UKG HRIS platforms and standard office productivity tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
  • Experience partnering with third-party leave administrators (prior experience with Lincoln Financial Group is a plus).
  • Experience supporting employees across multiple U.S. states.
  • Working knowledge of payroll and benefits administration processes.
