HR Director

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management
• Partner with executive leadership to implement HR strategies supporting company growth
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws relevant to mining and construction
• Manage talent acquisition for salaried and hourly roles across corporate and field operations
• Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
• Provide guidance to managers on employee relations and disciplinary actions
• Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HRIS systems
• Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and employee development initiatives
• Support safety culture initiatives in coordination with operations leadership
• Analyze HR metrics to support data-driven decision-making
• Manage and mentor HR staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• 8+ years of progressive HR experience
• 3–5 years in a leadership or director-level role
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance
• Proven ability to work with field-based and corporate teams
• Excellent leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telecom, mining, construction, heavy civil, or industrial environments
• Experience supporting multi-state or multi-site operations
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar professional certification
• Master’s degree
