About the role

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, promotions, leaves, and terminations.
  • Process staff, faculty, and student appointments within Workday, including salary increases and funding changes.
  • Provide frontline support and clarity regarding appointment, payroll, and other human resources inquiries.
  • Support recruitment and selection processes by posting opportunities, preparing materials, arranging interviews, and maintaining files.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Workday HR systems, including position management and honoraria.
  • Investigate and resolve staff payroll issues such as retroactive pay and late payments.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new HR initiatives and special projects within the Faculty of Arts.
  • Maintain current knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, and applicable collective agreements.

Requirements

  • High School graduation.
  • One year of post-secondary education.
  • Three years of related administrative or HR experience.
  • Commitment to enhancing awareness and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Workday.
  • Ability to interpret and apply collective agreements in a complex, unionized environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
