HR Business Partner/Employee Relations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead and support employee relations matters including complaints, misconduct, and disputes
• Conduct workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend next steps
• Support the 90-day review process for new hires and track performance feedback
• Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, and corrective actions
• Provide Spanish-language HR support for policy explanation and investigations
• Ensure consistent application of company policies and workplace conduct requirements
• Maintain accurate HR documentation, including investigation notes and case files
• Coach managers on handling difficult employee conversations
• Identify recurring ER issues and recommend improvements to reduce risk

Requirements

• 5–10 years of HR experience with focus on employee relations and investigations
• Fluent or professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish
• Experience supporting technical, R&D, or engineering teams
• Strong understanding of corrective action and performance review processes
• Ability to work fully on-site in Manteno, IL, Monday through Friday
• Strong judgment, confidentiality, and documentation discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in battery, EV, clean energy, or advanced manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of Illinois employment practices and U.S. employment law
• Experience with HRIS and employee relations case management tools
