HPC Data Center Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain data center infrastructure including power, cooling, hardware, and cabling to ensure maximum service availability
• Perform requirements gathering and planning for new hardware installations, including physical location and power/cooling needs
• Install, rack, and cable data center hardware such as servers, network equipment, and storage devices
• Conduct hardware troubleshooting, break-fix, and initial configuration of network devices and Linux servers
• Manage inventory, shipping/receiving of equipment, and capacity planning for space and power
• Interface with colocation providers, hardware vendors, and onsite contractors
• Develop and maintain technical documentation

Requirements

• 3+ years of Data Center experience
• Proficiency with Linux command line for system troubleshooting and running scripts
• Experience configuring Cisco and Arista devices via CLI
• Strong knowledge of cabling standards and media types
• Experience with hardware repair for servers, network devices, and storage
• Physical ability to work on ladders/elevated platforms and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Programming experience, such as Python
