HPC Data Center Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design for mission-critical HPC data center infrastructure, including generator plants, medium voltage distribution, and UPS systems.
• Act as Engineer of Record for electrical power striping, ensuring correct phase balancing and redundancy in high-density environments.
• Develop electrical design standards, specifications, and criteria for new data center builds and expansions.
• Manage multi-discipline project teams and coordinate with mechanical, structural, and technology departments.
• Oversee construction administration, including field investigations, commissioning, and RFI/change order reviews.
• Utilize AI tools daily to accelerate design work, perform calculations, and improve engineering workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering (with electrical building systems emphasis).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required (or EIT if PE is pending).
• 7+ years of experience designing electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, data centers, or HPC environments.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD MEP for electrical design and BIM.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards.
• Proven experience managing complex projects and directing technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming or scripting experience, specifically with Python.
• Demonstrated heavy use of AI tools (e.g., LLM-based assistants) in a professional engineering setting.
• Understanding of LEED principles and their application to data center environments.
